Living in Cambodia.

Modern Cambodia is the heir of once a Khmer Empire of South East Asia, one of the largest and strongest. It merely forgotten by other part of the world due to the civil war erupted in 70s' and the neighbouring war affair that eventually lead to a civil war and genocide under the Khmer Rouge Regime. It also bears the name of Killing Fields and 2 millions life lost.

The stability came after those dark period paying with an iron price.

Since then the Cambodian people have shown significant resolve in maintaining and upholding their ancient history and cultural practices. I arrived in Cambodia knowing very little about a country which has seen and come through it all until today.

I love food, be it just a street stall fried noodle or the most notably fine dining. Cambodian food had two other ingredients that give Khmer cuisines their fabulous typical flavour. One is a pungent fermented fish paste known as (pra-hok) and the other (kapi), a fermented prawn paste. These require an acquired taste for most but they are beloved by some who used them in many dishes or even taken as a dipping sauce. Collectively, these ingredients have become an important aromatic combination commonly used.

Not a single thing did I know about organizing or leading tours. However, back in 2015, I decided to offer a tour anyway, taking on the project with the exact same approach with which I’ve taken on just about in my life.

I started seeing thing that i endure most, the nature never failed to impress me,with so much details of history about civilization, I walked for hours just to look for a trace of the old ways and share it with those who visit here for a couple of days on holidays. Mostly people want to hear about Angkor temples or the Khmer Rouge, for me it is a study about people’s daily life, their social life and culture.

Sam, Co-Founder of SR Group Cambodia, is just an ordinary person love to travel and a dedicated destination tour planner under the flag SRG Holidays Cambodia offering excursions tour packages, hotel accommodation, tour guide services and transfer. Sam spent 4 years living in Angkor-Siem Reap; and many more years to come.

"See Cambodia and fill-up the missing pieces with history, with your imagination, with facts, with fun that all these makes your visit memorable."
